We've lived in our home for 7 years now. The crossing guard for the elementary school that both my girls attend(ed), which is right down the block, has been helping kids cross the street on the SAME CORNER for 47 years!!! Oh my goodness! Are you as flabbergasted as I am? She must know every little nook, cranny, and crack on those sidewalks!
She's retiring and they're throwing a party for her. Some people were just *born* to be with kids, and she's one of them. What a treat.

I love stories like this, where someone's done something they really enjoy FOREVER. :D
I admire it. I just can't imagine doing something like that for so long! I can hardly do something for a stinkin week! :)
